Public Safety
Reducing Crime is Vital to Prosperity and Recovery

Collaborate with the City administration and key NYC constituencies closely to ramp up enforcement – Expand NYPD foot and subway patrol; Install partial barriers on subway platforms

Work with community partners to create safe zones; Add security cameras; Fund and train neighborhood watch and patrols

Allocate funds to establish an Anti-Asian Hate Incidents Reporting Hotline Center that is staffed with culturally sensitive and bilingual personnel

Re-evaluate the bail reform law so violent criminals are off the street

Expand access to mental health care, including support for those experiencing homelessness. Improve budget for State level mental health services and programs.
Pandemic Recovery
Implementing initiatives for small businesses

Advocate to waive the first three years of NYS taxes for new small businesses

Introduce a Walk to Work tax credit to spur local hiring

Champion a fund targeted to vocational training programs for New Yorkers

Fight to increase funding for small business grants and low/no interest loans

Initiate a program to provide affordable childcare for New Yorkers, which will grow jobs in early childhood education and help parents to re-enter the workforce
Housing
Providing Affordable and Permanent Housing

Partner with the City administration and community development nonprofits to bring much needed truly affordable housing for middle and low income families

Secure additional Federal funding to revamp and repair NYCHA once and for all

Work with state agencies and local partners to reinvigorate the Michell Lama affordable housing program

Resolve to cap property tax to no more than 2% per year to ease homeowners' tax burden

Expand housing vouchers as an alternative to warehousing those experiencing homelessness in hotels and shelters
Education
Ensuring equitable quality education for all

Allocate funding to put great schools in every neighborhood and give every child a pathway to the future

Fight for equitable and high-quality education for all our children – Fight to keep the SHSAT, expand Gifted & Talented Program (G & T), fully fund each school to ensure a quality education for all
